Blended Ink Graduation Card

ink blended graduation

I needed a graduation card for someone I know who recently graduated with a Master’s degree from an art school.

Creating a card for someone who is a trained artist? DAUNTING! I totally froze.

Thought about watercoloring a background, but, my watercoloring is hit or miss, no technique visible. Can’t do that for an ARTIST.

I finally decided on ink blending with a stencil.

Supplies: Stamp – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Stardreams Silver, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feather, VersaFine Smokey Gray, stencil – Heidi Swapp, dies – Spellbinders (circles), Taylored Expressions (banner, grad cap), sequins – Stampin’ Up!, embossing powder – Ranger Silver Pearl, organdy ribbon – Offray.

  1. I have the same dilemma every year. My sister’s partner is also an artist. I always end up making jokey or ‘punny’ cards based on his artwork. The background you have made is fab, and I love the colours you chose.
