I was digging around in one of my scrap folders, and I found this quilted background. It has to be at least 8 years old. I used a punch to cut squares out of Basic Gray paper, glued them onto a scrap of white, and then used my sewing machine to stitch around the squares. The finished card measures 4.25 x 4.25 inches.
Supplies: Stamp – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Basic Gray scraps, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Stampin’ Up! Bermuda Bay, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Taylored Expressions, square punch – Stampin’ Up!, embossing powder – Ranger Silver Pearl.

Very pretty! I like the extra stitched detail too!

Thank you, Gillian! I made the background when the “in” thing was the Janome mini sewing machine (I used my regular sewing machine).

Aah. I only have a regular one and much as I love the stitched look, I cannot be bothered to haul it out and set it up!!

DITTO! (note, I have used my sewing machine for maybe one other card in the 8 years since I made this background!)

I haven’t used mine for any sewing, either!

Me, either. I do have to make a Christmas stocking this month, so (sew??) maybe you will see a stitched accent on something paper in the near future.
