One of my cousins texted me Wednesday night and asked me to make a scrub hat that would cover a low bun for her daughter on the west coast. Shortage of PPE.
I found a pattern online, and dug out this bright fabric (left over from a pillow & gym bag (2008 maybe??) – it was this or Christmas fabric!). I had elastic and twill tape in my sewing box.
I put it on my porch Thursday morning, my cousin picked it up and mailed it.
(Recipient is to let me know about fit/comfort before I make any more for her.)

Thanks so much for doing that it means a lot to those in health care that someone has their back when supplies are running so low. Love you even more than I already do for this!

Aw, shucks. (blushing) Thanks to Mom for sparking my interest in sewing, and to Mrs. Bonk, Sykesville Middle School Home Economics teacher for teaching me what Mom didn’t know. 😉 Love you!

Joanie Jenkins recruited me to sew scrub hats. Are you interested?

Not at this time – I am trying to get things for my own family done (and I am out of fabric!). Thanks for asking! Maybe I will jump on board after I am finished my things.

Perfect. Joannie has fabric. I didn’t volunteer because I got rid of all my stash when we moved. Who knew?

I know, right?? I cut up one of Will’s nice cotton plaid button down shirts today to use for masks (arms were too short, he didn’t wear it much at all). Got enough for 6 masks!
