Sometimes when I am in the middle of creating one card, another card idea muscles its way into my brain and I can’t complete the first card until I make the new card. This was one of those cards.
Supplies: Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Curious Metallics Gold Leaf, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pool Party, inks – VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Spellbinders, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Stampendous Gold Detail.
Bold? Artsy? I need practice swiping my ink cubes across the paper. With the kraft paper layer, it reminds me of a serape blanket.
This was totally inspired by Joan Bardee at Dear Paperlicious. Her card (which had a floral stamp with the stripes) was on Instagram over a year ago – while I was not being crafty. I stored the idea away.
Supplies: Stamp – Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Desert Storm, inks – Concord & 9th Poppy, Taylored Expressions Blueberry, Lime Zest, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
I was inspired by a tulip stamp I saw last week – that I don’t have, I don’t have the craft funds to purchase (and, really, I would use it for March & April, then it would sit the rest of the year).
So I pulled out my old, wood mount tulip stamps. Made 16 cards, and have 2 more images (a newer, mixed bouquet stamp) colored but not made into cards yet. Always good to pull out the old stuff to see if it still works – of course it does! (why else would I have kept it in my basement this long – the old favorites ALWAYS work!)
The thank you set (of 8) is for my mother-in-law.

This is the combination of graphic & feminine. This graphic birthday block stamp is a favorite of mine, but I usually only color individual blocks for a very graphic card. I took the plunge and stamped a feminine background in a light color ink, then stamped the birthday block over top. Did you see the light bulb fire over my head??? LOVE the result.
See what I mean? Very graphic. No softness.
Here is the feminine background. Lovely, but depending on the color I choose for stamping, it may look like wallpaper from maternal grandma’s house circa 1950! (Note: paternal grandma’s house had no wallpaper.)
