Vertical or Horizontal Striped Bookcase Cards?

I pulled out markers in one of my favorite color combinations – coral, yellow, and aqua. And made a bright and cheerful encouragement card.

A few days later, I pulled out brighter markers and colored the bookcase in horizontal stripes.

Which do you prefer – horizontal or vertical stripes?

Blended Bookcase Thinking of You Card

I just love this library background! I did some ink blending over top of it rather than coloring individual elements.

And of course I had to use the leftover bit to make another card!

Supplies: Stamps – Brutus Monroe, Cornish Heritage Farms, Essentials by Ellen, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pop Tone Black Licorice, Stampin’ Up! Tempting Turquoise (retired), inks – Stampin’ Up! Tempting Turquoise (retired), Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Salty Ocean, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Simon Says Stamp (label), embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Ranger Super Fine Detail white.

Bookcase Strip Cards

The bookcase stamp I got is big – 6 x 6 inches. I color all of it, and then cut out what I need for a card front. Leaving me with strips of bookcase beautifulness left over to be used on other cards.

Supplies:  Stamps – Brutus Monroe, Essentials by Ellen, Waffle Flower, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, PopTone Black Licorice, Stampin’ Up! Bashful Blue (retired), Calypso Coral, inks – Copic B21, C3, C7, E53, G00, N1, N4, R14, Y06, YG25, VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaFine Clair Nocturne, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Bookcase Card

Offspring3 and I have a thing for bookcases. And all the things that you contain in bookcases.

With news contributors ZOOMing from their living rooms or offices during the pandemic, we have seen some beautiful bookcases in the last year.

Here are some examples! No need to watch the videos, you can see the bookcases in the preview pane.

Michael Beschloss, presidential historian:

(He gets bonus points for that fireplace!)

Kacie Hunt from MSNBC:

(She gets bonus points for books arranged by COLOR!)

ANYWAY, I found a bookcase stamp that hits it all – from Brutus Monroe. It even has cats and cameras – very versatile.

The interior sentiment of this card is Sending you warm wishes & sunny smiles.  (I stamped one too many for New Year’s cards.)

Supplies: Stamp – Brutus Monroe, paper – Neenah Classis Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Bashful Blue (way, way retired), inks – Copic B21, C3, C7, E53, YG25, VersaMark Clair Nocturne, die – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Stampendous.
