This card was for Cousin Pati’s birthday last week.
I had a horrible time with the photography – it was a bright sunny day, but too much glare. Hard to get the sparkle without the glare. This second photo shows the sparkle, but the color is a bit wonky.

Three or four weeks ago, I had my Distress Oxide ink pads out to try and watercolor with them. Before I put them away, I made this background by smooshing the pads onto a sheet of plastic, spritzing a little water, and dipping a piece of watercolor paper into the puddle. “Spray, smoosh some more, repeat” until I liked the saturation.
After it dried, I heat embossed the gerbera daisies onto the background.
This card is larger than my usual cards (A6 – 4.675 x 6.25 inches).

I die cut watercolor paper with the photo frame die, then stamped the seagull, embossed with clear powder, and watercolored the square.
Alas, I cut the paint chip, and set it aside without checking if it was straight. I always ASSume that paint chips come to me with cuts in perfect perpendicular form (If the sides are not straight or the paint lines are not level on the chip, I lose. I use a precut side to start my downsizing of the paint chip.). So, it was glued down when I noticed it was wonky. BOO. But, really, my Dad is not grading me on this (other things – YES, he is. Still.).

Offspring3 gifted me this mini stamp set ages ago, and it still had not seen ink.
Father-in-law has lived within 15 miles of the beach his entire life…I bet he has fond memories of the ferris wheels at the closest beach towns. I’m hoping this will make him smile.

Another try at watercoloring with Distress Oxide inks. This time I stamped the image using 2 colors of ink (so they blend in the middle). And I was more careful with the water I applied to the flowers, most of the detail lines were preserved. There is a light splattering of sparkle (Wink of Stella) that is not visible in the photo.
Supplies: Stamps – Avery Elle, Simon Says Stamp, paper – Canson watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, inks – Hero Arts Unicorn, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Oxide inks Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, ZIG Wink of Stella clear, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder white.
Another daisy card (sorry!). This one was stamped (with some masking), embossed and watercolored. I dropped it at the Post Office on Thursday, 90% sure it would not make it to the recipient in time for her birthday. I hope the card itself makes up for late delivery! 😉
