Emboss Resist Get Well Card

For this background, I stamped Spanish Script in Shabby Shutters Distress ink first. After that dried completely, I stamped the foliage in VersaMark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Finally, I blended Shabby Shutters over the entire piece.

After seeing the Simon Says Stamp Sugar Skulls stamp set, Offspring3 requested a Dia de los Muertos card to send to the high school Spanish teacher. The last of the sugar skull cards for this year.

Dia de los Muertos Cards

Offspring3 loves all things Dia de los Muertos. Luckily, Simon Says Stamp put out a stamp set/die combo at the very end of September. I snatched it up. LOVE IT. I took Spanish all through high school and a few semesters in college – I do not remember learning about Dia de los Muertos at all. Perhaps because all of my Spanish teachers/professors had studied in Spain, not Mexico or Central America?

Here is a closer look at the center card – the black cardstock was embossed with a Darice embossing folder.

Paint Chip and Watercolor Card

Had a thought to watercolor the die cut stem silhouettes with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. Followed the lines of the paint chip (Sherwin Williams HGTV line) with two other scraps of paper. Layered over a piece of Heidi Swapp Favorite Things paper.
