I never seem to have a new home card when I need one.
When I was flipping through paper pads, I grabbed this sheet to pair up with an embossed sentiment I found in my scrap folder.
Supplies: Stamps – JustRite, paper – Crate Paper Good Vibes, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Island Indigo, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
My main computer saga continues here. Definitely my hard drive is not working. Main computer is just about 6 years old…average lifespan of desktop is 5 years. Do I try to replace my hard drive (and figure out how to get Windows 10 back when main computer was bought with Windows 8 but upgraded later to Windows 10???) and keep my fingers crossed that nothing else was wrong? Or do I replace the desktop tower and start anew?
Anyway, I already had my laptop set up with tools I need for blogging. I did find a spare HDMI cable and linked my laptop to my big desktop monitor, and plugged the speakers into the laptop, so I feel almost “normal”. My biggest hiccup is that I am using my laptop keyboard, but I keep rolling out the keyboard tray for the desktop. (Yes, I could plug the desktop keyboard into the laptop, but then when I want to connect my camera to download photos (quickest way), I would have to unplug sound or keyboard to free up a USB slot. First World problem, to be sure.)
I am going for classic Valentines this year! This one is for my parents.

Last weekend, hubby went to visit his parents. He ran some errands for his mother, and she had requested that he purchase some greeting cards for her to have at the house. Hubby does not like shopping for cards, so he came back from the store without them. “Oh, Kathy can make them for you.” Which is fine and dandy, but I make cards that are blank inside. Now I have to come up with inside sentiments for the cards she requested (card sentiments are so personal to me – I dislike trying to pick for cards that other people will send). Not an insurmountable task, but one I dread. It will all work out…but I will procrastinate!
Supplies: Stamp – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Crate Paper Good Vibes, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Brushed Gold, Pool Party, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Spellbinders, embossing powder – Stampendous Gold Detail.
How about a floral onesie baby note card? I would have loved this navy and pink print on baby girl clothes circa Offspring3!
Supplies: Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, Sugar Pea Designs, paper – Crate Paper Good Vibes, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, PopTone Razzle Berry, Stampin’ Up! Pirouette Pink, inks – Hero Arts Unicorn, My Favorite Things Razzle Berry, dies – Stampin’ Up! (banner), Sugar Pea Designs (onesie), embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, white, organdy ribbon – Offray.
How are your holiday preparations proceeding? The offspring helped decorate the Christmas tree over the weekend. And I printed my wall calendars (3 – 2 for gifts, 1 for here). I still have not completed a holiday card – good thing I have lots of sentiments to choose from because HAPPY NEW YEAR is looking more and more appropriate!
Supplies: Stamp – Papertrey Ink, paper – Crate Paper Falala, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Wild Wasabi (retired), ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Reverse Confetti (holly, berries), Simon Says Stamp (banner), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
I allotted my morning time on Wednesday to gift tags, and I got 7 made, along with a note card.
This checked paper is from last year’s Crate Paper Falala pad.
Here are the backs of the tags.
You can see on the middle one there was a rogue dot from some other die cut – I got quite a nice impression.
The red snowflake is one out of the pile I had after finishing my parents’ Christmas cards.
Supplies: Stamps – Hero Arts, paper – Crate Paper Falala, My Favorite Things Field Day, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Real Red, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Lawn Fawn (tag), My Favorite Things (outstitched rounded rectangle, snowflake), Reverse Confetti (holly), sequins – Doodlebug Designs, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, metallic cord – Paper Mart.
I invested in a new die set from My Favorite Things called Fold-Up Tags. What is unique with this set is that the top layer dies (3 with different bottom edge cuts) have a score line near the top that lets you fold back the top layer (neatly!) to see what is underneath after the top and bottom layers are glued together.
I used scraps from Crate Paper, Lawn Fawn, and…hmmm…that blue glitter snowflake paper…Recollections, maybe?
On the base layers I stamped “to: from”.
Supplies: Stamps – Scrapbook.com, paper – Crate Paper FaLaLa, Lawn Fawn, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Recollections glitter (maybe!), Silver Mirror, Stampin’ Up! Bermuda Bay, Real Red, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – My Favorite Things, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear, metallic cord – Paper Mart, twine -Offray.
