Sparkly Faux Letterpress Birthday Card

I was inspired by THIS blog post by Jennifer McGuire to try inking an embossing folder before cranking it through my die cut machine.

My ink did not turn out as smooth as hers did – my brayer is old and not used much, maybe I need a new one. I was happy enough to make it into a card to be mailed off to a friend.

“Sparkly” is in the title because the blue paper is iridescent when you tilt it towards the light.

Encouragement Speech Bubble Card

I think the sentiments in Julie Ebersole’s Voices in My Head stamp set are sassy and fun!

The sequins were a last minute addition – I realized the white background (the lady is stamped/embossed/colored directly on that white layer) was too stark. The card was already assembled, so I didn’t want to attempt blending  or additional coloring. Sequins to the rescue.

Foiled Vitamin Sea Card

I bought some Deco Foil Rainbow Shattered Glass foil recently, and used my laminator to make this card. This foil is GORGEOUS.

And guess what?

I WAS SUCCESSFUL ON THE FIRST TRY! Have I ever said that about foiling before??
