One of my cousins requested this birthday card. The key word was “hippy-ish”. This was my first idea – ink blend a rainbow background & die cut it into sunbeams.

Daffodil Delight, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Oxide Abandoned Coral, Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean, Squeezed Lemonade, Wilted Violet, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn, stencil – Gina K. So…this is my anniversary card for my hubby. It does have Happy Anniversary on the inside.
The pizza paper was a whim. We have been joking for the last week that we can go get soft serve ice cream to celebrate our anniversary (the local stand was to open for the season on our anniversary…with the pandemic, they are not opening until a later date). Ice cream is NOT pizza, I know. But my ice cream cone paper is bright pink…not a color of my hubby. Pizza paper has blue (the hubby color). We do love pizza (homemade, or Grotto – which was a beach brand until about 3 years ago when they opened a store within 5 miles of us!).
What’s new in your corner of the world?
Supplies: Stamp – Papertrey Ink, paper – American Crafts Amy Tangerine On A Whim, Gmund Royal, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Ink, VersaMark, die – Simon Says Stamp, embossing powder – Ranger Super Fine Detail.
One would think that with the current social distancing and stay at home COVID-19 situation that I would be crafting every day.
Nope. No crafty mojo here (must be locked down somewhere else!).
I’ve been walking most days (not fantastic during spring allergy time for me! The pollen really bothers me.), checking on my parents, playing Sudoku on my phone, and doing regular chores. My husband and I ventured out for a Safeway/Target run yesterday. Not crowded, per se, but more people than I expected. And some people are not good about the 6 feet of separation. I think I was holding my breath when people got too close.
SO…my in-laws are celebrating their 65th anniversary this week. I pulled out my supplies to make a card.
The silver mirror “shadow” of the numbers is difficult to see – it is mostly reflecting the bright pink of my pajamas! (I took the photo in the basement at night – it turned out incredibly well, all things considered. Just couldn’t get a shot that didn’t reflect the pink.)
Stay safe, keep the distance!
Supplies: Stamps – JustRite, paper – Gmund Royal, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, ScrapBerry Mediterranean Dreams, Stampin’ Up! Silver Mirror, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Papertrey Ink (numbers), Taylored Expressions (banner), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
When I got this stencil last year, my first thought was to make each fish a different color…and my logistical brain said “way too much work”. I FINALLY went back to my first thought, and am very glad I took the time!
I used Post-It tape to mask off each individual fish, each bubble (yes, I have a few places where I missed).
When the ink was dry, I repositioned the stencil and applied clear embossing paste over the colored fish. After the embossing paste dried, I applied a very light watercolor wash (and tried to keep my brush as dry as possible, since I didn’t use watercolor or Bristol paper) to make the watery background.
Mood when done: HAPPY. 🙂

This Voices in my Head stamp set from Ellen Hutson arrived Monday at lunchtime…I had this card made before I went to bed.
I stamped/embossed/colored the head on white cardstock, and fussy cut it out. It had to go on the raindrop background paper. (Raise your hand if you can hear Igor from “Young Frankenstein” say, “Could be worse…could be raining!”)
