Mother’s Day cards flummoxed me this year. I made all 4 of the ones I needed as close to the deadline (mother-in-law cards require mailing, my mother I can hand deliver) as humanly possible. Finished these 2 Sunday morning.
Supplies: Stamps – Hero Arts, Newton’s Nook, Taylored Expressions, paper – A Muse (green with cream dots), Curious Metallics Blueprint, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Classy Copper.
I was inspired by a tulip stamp I saw last week – that I don’t have, I don’t have the craft funds to purchase (and, really, I would use it for March & April, then it would sit the rest of the year).
So I pulled out my old, wood mount tulip stamps. Made 16 cards, and have 2 more images (a newer, mixed bouquet stamp) colored but not made into cards yet. Always good to pull out the old stuff to see if it still works – of course it does! (why else would I have kept it in my basement this long – the old favorites ALWAYS work!)
The thank you set (of 8) is for my mother-in-law.

This is the combination of graphic & feminine. This graphic birthday block stamp is a favorite of mine, but I usually only color individual blocks for a very graphic card. I took the plunge and stamped a feminine background in a light color ink, then stamped the birthday block over top. Did you see the light bulb fire over my head??? LOVE the result.
See what I mean? Very graphic. No softness.
Here is the feminine background. Lovely, but depending on the color I choose for stamping, it may look like wallpaper from maternal grandma’s house circa 1950! (Note: paternal grandma’s house had no wallpaper.)
Supplies: Stamps – Hero Arts, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pop-Tone Black Licorice, Sour Apple, inks – Copic YG25, Lawn Fawn Fresh Lavender, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Abandoned Coral, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), My Favorite Things (pierced rectangle), Spellbinders (circles), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
This is my FAVORITE house image for a card related to moving.
The weather forecast here is for snow and ice again tonight into tomorrow. Yes, regular February weather for us. SIGH. I am so ready for warmer weather this year.
