Navy and Floral Wedding Card

Someone in my husband’s family is getting married next week.

I based my color and design choices on the invitation we received. (I looked it up online – the design is available from VistaPrint.)

I used the navy, the floral theme (I don’t have roses), and the oval shape.

Stamping on dark cardstock is a lot of work! Each flower or leaf was stamped first in white, then in at least one layer of color. I would not have been able to do this without my MISTI for repeat stamping.

Supplies:  Stamps – Hero Arts, Inky Antics, Paper Salon, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy, Stardream Metallics Copper, inks – Copic RV11, Hero Arts Unicorn, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Fired Brick, Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Oxide Ink – Picked Raspberry, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Simon Says Stamp (rectangle), Spellbinders (ovals), embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Viking Valentine Card

Offspring3 found this stamp for my birthday…with one of the neighbor’s kids in mind. The oldest neighbor kiddo is 5, and she is a chatterbox. She has been a viking the past 2 Halloweens, and she even gets her Daddy to dress up, too.

I made dots with my Copic markers for the ground – I was thinking rocky, dirty terrain, with a little ice/snow mixed in.

Supplies: Stamp – Avery Elle, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Poptone Razzle Berry, Stampin’ Up! Red Glitter, inks – Copic B0000, C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, , E00, E15, E23, E41, E53, E57, N4, N7, W3, W7, T3, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Hickory Smoke, Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Spellbinders (hearts), stencil – Inky Antics, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, twine – MarkerPop.

Holy Ship! Birthday Card

I am working on masculine birthday cards.

I stamped the boat first, masked it with a Post-It note, and blended the sky and sea around it. The waves were then stamped in 4 colors. Finally, I removed the mask and colored the boat with Copic markers.

I was inspired by this color grouping on the Reverse Confetti blog:

And, it turns out, the card above was just practice for this square version (which is for my brother):

The differences:  I stenciled the clouds instead of using die cut clouds, I added several white embossed waves, and {lightbulb moment!} I added the ship’s wheel die cut out of wood paper.

Supplies: Stamps – Essentials By Ellen, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Paper Papers wood grain (cherry), Stampin’ Up! Real Red, inks – Copic BG10, BG15, E15, E23, R29, Hero Arts Unicorn, Stampin’ Up! Bermuda Bay, Brilliant Blue (retired), Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks: Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, VersaFine Smokey Gray, dies – Essentials by Ellen (boat, clouds), Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), My Favorite things (ship wheel charm), stencil – Inky Antics, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Ranger Silver Pearl, linen thread – Stampin’ Up!
