Let the record show…

…that for the first time in my card making career, I have my own personal holiday cards totally assembled before mid December!

I used my new MISTI to help with the mass production (that and a lot of pine cone masks!).

I blogged this card back in July. I did add a banner for the sentiment on my mass produced cards, I felt the original gold on kraft sentiment did not show as well as I hoped.

And, please don’t think I am ready for the holidays because I finished my cards. I have hardly done any shopping, no decorating, I still have to make my parents’ holiday cards, create the photo calendar for next year (we give as gifts to the grandparents), sew a brand new Christmas stocking, and bake whatever variety of cookies I am inspired to bake.

Just let me bask in my accomplishment a minute longer…and then I will go work on laundry.   😉

Highlighted Floral Birthday Card

I decided to experiment with highlighting an area on a card front. I die cut a circle, then used the negative “hole” to blend ink on a white panel. The leaves were stamped on top of that. The flower was stamped on a separate piece of paper, painted with an aquabrush, and fussy cut.

Square Thinking of You Card

My blogging buddy, Lekha, sent me the photo below, hoping it would be inspirational for me. Guess what, Lekha, IT WORKED!

I had an ancient square A Muse note card (Mod Dots in Popsicle Pink), and I thought that would be my circle jumping point. I die cut Paper Smooches flowers and dots (using dryer sheets to keep them in place – which backfired a bit with the second run through the die cut machine – the dryer sheet stuck to the paper).

 

I added a sentiment on black as a nod to the edges of the inspiration bowls (which may not be black in person!). A few white dots with the Kirarina WiNK white pen finished it all off.

Christmas in July – A Wish for Peace Card

The Essentials by Ellen Mistletoe & Holly set is on my workspace, I am trying to figure out personal Christmas card ideas. With all of the violence and death in the news the past month, the “I wish for peace” sentiment stamp spoke to me from a storage drawer.

I masked the pine cones using Post-It notes before stamping the foliage and berries. The snow accents are Kirarina WiNK white pen.

Seaside Birthday Card

I stamped this collection of shells a few weeks ago, not really sure what I was going to do with it. Fast forward to last week, and My Favorite Things release preview. What Debbie Olsen did with Kirarina WiNK marker on this card gave me inspiration for my sea shells.

I tore the edge of the Crumb Cake paper (to look a bit like a dune line here on the East coast), and then applied some Kirarina WiNK white to be sea foam.

Nuts About You Card

This is another card I created with Offspring3 in mind. Perfect for fall semester.

Offspring1 and Offspring2 never remembered to check their snail mailboxes without me prodding. Offspring3 has PROMISED to check the snail mailbox on a regular basis. I LOVED getting mail when I was in the dorms, but we all know that was back in the dark ages, before e-anything!

Watercolor New Baby Card

Our next door neighbors had a new baby about two weeks ago, and one of us finally ran into a visiting grandma to find out what color to make the card.

Pink it is! I watercolored a background, added stamped pieces on top, finished up with ribbon and sequins.
