Repurposed Lilly Pulitzer Paper Encouragement Cards

BLOG MILESTONE:

This is post number 2,000.

I started blogging back in 2013 – it seems a lifetime ago.

Thanks for all of your comments and likes!

Back in 2016, I did a post titled Trash to Treasure – Lilly Pulitzer , about using a cut up advertisement as background paper.

I still have some of the wrapping paper and cut up advertisement, and I used it for some new encouragement cards. Aren’t these sentiments great??

I did two coats of the white embossing powder to get complete coverage.

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Simon Says Stamp, paper – Lilly Pulitzer, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), My Favorite Things (pierced rectangles), embossing powders – Ranger Super Fine Detail white, Stampendous detail clear.

Lilly Pulitzer Square Hello Card

I’ve been struggling with my creative mojo for some time now. Just part of life, my mind is working overtime on things to fret about.

On Monday, I decided to do a purge on my card basket. I pulled out 40 cards. Went through them repeatedly…are these worthy of giving away? (or should I just trash them??) Yes, they were fine to give away. I texted a neighbor and asked if she would like some free greeting cards (knowing she works with people who like my cards – she could spread the windfall around if she wanted). By 2:00pm, the cards were out of my house.

I felt relieved. Lighter.

And with that, the mojo flowed.

I found a scrap of hoarded Lilly Pulitzer advertisement in my stash, and this card made itself.

And here is what I am listening to as I type.  #LesMiserables

Trash to Treasure – Lilly Pulitzer Advertisement into 3 Encouragement Cards

lilly-gift-resort-2016

I got this Lilly Pulitzer mailing (not quite a catalog) a few weeks ago. I love Lilly Pulitzer artwork! I am on their mailing list because I purchase one planner a year, to give as a gift.

Every page of this thing had artwork or color that inspired me. So, I took it apart, and cut it into pieces.
