Diamond Background Card – Fashion Inspired

The past few months, I have been watching episodes of Project Runway season 19 while I complete my weekly ironing on Sunday afternoons.

The episode where the contestants get to create their own fabrics (season 19, episode 4, this is the winning outfit by Shantall Lacayo) gave me this inspiration:

So, I pulled out my ancient Stampin’ Up! Print Pattern background stamp and a Gina K. Designs set with tiny pieces (name unknown) and went to work.

I had a card base on my craft table that I thought was blank inside. Nope, I had embossed a sympathy sentiment inside. I pulled out a very old stamp set to help me complete the card.

Sunflower Thinking of You Card

Well, HELLO!

I have not made a card in 3 months. I can’t believe I just typed that.

Creative MOJO has been absent, parents have needed my time, etc, etc. Once you get out of the habit, it is hard to make it back.

I felt a lot like the rusted Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz.

Remembering how to format a post is almost as stressful as trying to create a card!

I am not sure how much I will be posting, or if I will just let the blog go when my next billing cycle comes along.

Distress Ink Floral Watercolor Birthday Card

These images were embossed on Neenah cardstock in gold and watercolored with Distress Inks. This cardstock is not meant for watercoloring, but I wanted the bright white background.

I always make an extra background when doing things that require multiple stamping steps. Both pieces turned out fine, so I made two more cards out of the extra background.

Stars and Stripes Birthday Card

Hello, hello!

I am still struggling with my creativity.

My father-in-law’s birthday is very close to the 4th of July, and, as usual, one of his cards turned out patriotic.

The open stars die was a freebie with a Taylored Expressions order (thanks, Offspring3!). I cut 2 to fill the front of this card, and used the solid stars to fill in around the edges.
