Do you remember the first time you saw the movie “Jaws”? I remember it vividly…August 1975. At least we waited until after the beach vacation to go see it. 😉 I still stop and watch it when it is on our cable TV.
Supplies: Stamps – Lawn Fawn, paper – Canson watercolor, Gmund Royal, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, Smokey Gray, watercolors – Sakura Koi, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
For this card, I used my favorite stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Lovely as a Tree set (how I have not worn this stamp out, I do not know!), embossed in gold.
I stamped carnations and a sentiment onto watercolor paper and embossed them. Then, I loosely watercolored the carnations. I am not sure if I was “loose” enough – it might just look like I am awful at staying in the lines.
Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Ranger Watercolor, Stampin’ Up! Rose Red, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Lawn Fawn, watercolors – Sakura Koi, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
This is the second card I made for Mom’s birthday. Quite frankly, I don’t think she even looked at it, she was fighting so valiantly with the envelope! (Note to self: stop putting Mom’s cards in envelopes when they are hand delivered!)
This is the second card for my Dad. I know I have mentioned before, he was a salesman in the 1960’s, and had VW Beetles as his work ride. I stamped the bug onto watercolor paper, and watercolored in the colors that he owned. The orange one (the color was named “Clementine”) was the last one we had (1971 model), and it got painted navy by my high school auto shop at some point late in the 1970’s. The best car to learn how to drive the stick shift!
I watercolored a background using Sakura Koi watercolors, and then die cut that with a stitched rectangle die. I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte liquid glue (sparingly) under the (butterfly) vellum, and it worked well. I will have to remember to ask Cousin Pati if the butterfly was still attached when she receives it!
