Paper and Ink Imaginings

Thinking of You Card – CC481

cc481 thinking of you

This week’s Splitcoaststampers color challenge is titled So Smoky & Slushy. The colors are So Saffron, Smoky Slate and Strawberry Slush. With dessert option of twine.

I was inspired by the card that Julie Ebersole did for Monday’s (June 2, 2014) Hello, Monday feature on Ellen Hutson’s The Classroom blog.

I embossed the flowers in white on watercolor paper, then spritzed with water. I don’t have reinkers in any of the challenge colors, but I had 2 of the 3 colors in marker form, and the 3rd in an ink pad. So, I used 2 markers and a blender pen (with the ink pad) to get color into the water on the paper. I finally bagged the blender pen – it didn’t work the way I anticipated, and pulled out my aqua brush to spread the Smoky Slate.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Canson watercolor, Stampin’ Up! Smoky Slate, Strawberry Slush, inks – Stampin’ Up! Smoky Slate, So Saffron, Strawberry Slush, VersaFine Smoky Gray, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder white, twine – We R Memory Keepers.

Celebrate! – CC480

This week’s Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge is “Real White Night” (Real Red, Whisper White, Night of Navy) with dessert option of stars.

I started out thinking I was making a Father’s Day card or birthday card for my father-in-law. But this card happened instead. Just go with it, right? I have been so busy the past few weeks, my mojo is not sure what to make of crafting time!

I punched stars with various punches, and embossed the largest ones in an embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by!

This was my last week as guest designer on the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge. It has been a great honor to participate with the hostesses and fellow guest designer for the month of April – thanks again for asking me to play along.

This week’s challenge (CC476) is Wonderful Pizzazz Petals (Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, Primrose Petals), with the dessert option of metallic gold.

Dessert being my FAVORITE thing, I went crazy with gold.

The latest color challenge at Splitcoaststampers (CC475) is “Point me to a Real Pie” – Pacific Point, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie. With dessert option of enamel dots.

I cut the blue card smaller than the onesie die, so the card is similar to a tent topper. And I positioned the enamel dots to be the onesie snaps.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You Note Card – CC474

cc474 thinking of you

This week’s Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge (CC474) is Pink Pirouette, Pistachio Pudding, and Very Vanilla. With dessert option of NO STAMPING.

I knew immediately what supplies I was using – a new die, Stem Silhouettes 4 from Taylored Expressions, and a tag die from Lawn Fawn.

I cut three of the stems out of cream cardstock, and colored them with markers and a blender pen. I cut two tags – one of vellum paper, one of Pistachio Pudding, and adhered the vellum one behind the Pistachio one. I wrote the sentiment with a Copic Multiliner, and glued the stems around the sentiment. The tag is mounted on an embossed cream panel, then to a note card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies: Paper – Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Stampin’ Up! Pistachio Pudding, vellum paper, inks – Copic Multiliner, Stampin’ Up! Happy Easter Card – CC473

cc473 easter

The colors for this week’s Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge (CC473) are Pool Party, Sahara Sand, and So Saffron, and the dessert option is Easter theme.

Pool Party and So Saffron together just remind me of dyed Easter eggs, so that is the direction I took.

I stamped the Longaberger (yes, an official Longaberger basket stamp! Thanks to a friend who used to be a Longaberger consultant!) basket on Sahara Sand with Vintage Sepia and embossed with clear embossing powder. I fussy cut the basket, added some eggs (Stampin’ Up! small oval punch, cut in half) to the back of the basket with sticky tape and then mounted on a white panel that had been stamped with a grass stamp.

Supplies: Stamps: JustRite, The Longaberger Company, paper – Papertrey Ink White, Stampin’ Up! Pool Party, Sahara Sand, So Saffron, inks – Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz, VersaFine Vintage Sepia, dies – Spellbinders, oval punch – Stampin’ Up!, embossing folder – Provo Craft, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art clear, twine – Martha Stewart.

Cogs and Gears Birthday Card – CC472

Guess what??!

I got invited to be a guest designer for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge for the month of April! (I am still doing the happy dance!)

This week’s colors (CC472) are Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy, and Old Olive. Dessert option of birthday theme.

I stamped cogs and gears in the challenge colors to create a background, then added tags on top.

I was blown away by what the designers came up with for the challenge. I think I need to step up my game for next week!

If you would like to see the creations for this challenge, here is the CC472 Gallery. I go by the name koopdedoo on Splitcoaststampers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Mother’s Day Card – CC471

This week’s Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge (CC471) listed 6 colors – OH MY! The colors are Basic Black, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, and Summer Starfruit. The options were to use ALL six colors, or to select any three of the colors. The dessert option is using ribbon.

Six colors (that included Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding – two of my “meh” colors!) was too many for me this week! I selected Basic Black, Pool Party, and Sahara Sand.

I painted half of a heart shape with acrylic paint. Added a greeting, a few Gerber daisies embossed with silver. Embellished with punched flowers, sequins, Swarovski elements and enamel dots. AND squeezed the dessert option ribbon in there, too.

Thanks for stopping by!
