Sometimes when I am in the middle of creating one card, another card idea muscles its way into my brain and I can’t complete the first card until I make the new card. This was one of those cards.
Supplies: Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Curious Metallics Gold Leaf, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pool Party, inks – VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black, die – Spellbinders, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Stampendous Gold Detail.
I was inspired by a tulip stamp I saw last week – that I don’t have, I don’t have the craft funds to purchase (and, really, I would use it for March & April, then it would sit the rest of the year).
So I pulled out my old, wood mount tulip stamps. Made 16 cards, and have 2 more images (a newer, mixed bouquet stamp) colored but not made into cards yet. Always good to pull out the old stuff to see if it still works – of course it does! (why else would I have kept it in my basement this long – the old favorites ALWAYS work!)
The thank you set (of 8) is for my mother-in-law.

My parents LOVE St. Patrick’s Day – I think the loud party aspect! My Dad does have some Irish heritage (at least 25%), my Mom has only a smidge (which she makes up for by her love of corned beef & cabbage!).
I had a card base on my craft table that I thought was blank inside. Nope, I had embossed a sympathy sentiment inside. I pulled out a very old stamp set to help me complete the card.
These images were embossed on Neenah cardstock in gold and watercolored with Distress Inks. This cardstock is not meant for watercoloring, but I wanted the bright white background.
I always make an extra background when doing things that require multiple stamping steps. Both pieces turned out fine, so I made two more cards out of the extra background.
