Tulips for Days

(click on any image to enlarge in new window!)

This past weekend I went TULIP CRAZY. Seriously.

I was inspired by a tulip stamp I saw last week – that I don’t have, I don’t have the craft funds to purchase (and, really, I would use it for March & April, then it would sit the rest of the year).

So I pulled out my old, wood mount tulip stamps. Made 16 cards, and have 2 more images (a newer, mixed bouquet stamp) colored but not made into cards yet. Always good to pull out the old stuff to see if it still works – of course it does! (why else would I have kept it in my basement this long – the old favorites ALWAYS work!)

The thank you set (of 8) is for my mother-in-law.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2022

(as always, click on any image to enlarge)

My parents LOVE St. Patrick’s Day – I think the loud party aspect! My Dad does have some Irish heritage (at least 25%), my Mom has only a smidge (which she makes up for by her love of corned beef & cabbage!).

An Irish blessing:

May your troubles be less

and your blessings be more,

and nothing but happiness

come through your door.

Rectangle Block Background Cards

Using the solid rectangle stamp helped me avoid coloring or blending the background.

Aqua and Gold Sympathy Card

I had a card base on my craft table that I thought was blank inside. Nope, I had embossed a sympathy sentiment inside. I pulled out a very old stamp set to help me complete the card.

Red Dahlia Birthday Card

I blended this dahlia a while ago, and got interrupted by life. I pulled it back out last week and turned it into a card for one of my cousins.

Time for me to start fretting about having nothing done for Christmas!

Supplies: Stamp – Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pop-Tone Black Licorice, inks – Gina K Designs Cherry Red, Stampin’ Up! Pumpkin Pie, VersaMark, die – Lawn Fawn, stencil – Taylored Expressions, embossing powder – Stampendous.

Distress Ink Floral Watercolor Birthday Card

These images were embossed on Neenah cardstock in gold and watercolored with Distress Inks. This cardstock is not meant for watercoloring, but I wanted the bright white background.

I always make an extra background when doing things that require multiple stamping steps. Both pieces turned out fine, so I made two more cards out of the extra background.

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Taylored Expressions, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Calypso Coral, Highland Heather, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink Abandoned Coral, Crushed Olive, Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick, VersaMark, die – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), embossing folder – Stampin’ Up!, sequins – Pretty Pink Posh, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold.
