She’s a Brick….House Valentine’s Day Card

brick house valentine

I ordered this brick wall embossing folder (Stampin’ Up!) in the fall, and just never used it. Every time I look at it, I here the Commadores, circa 1977, singing, “She’s a brick…house…”

Instead of fighting that, I just went with it. I have a friend who will appreciate the musical reference when I mail it to her for Valentine’s Day.

And then, a few days later, I had the light bulb moment that I had brick scrapbooking paper…LEGO bricks! (Good thing I stamped an extra sentiment last time!)

Valentine’s Day Card – Fusion Challenge {Two Hearts}

fusion two hearts valentine chocolates Here is my take on the current Fusion Card Challenge {Two Hearts}. The faux chocolate candy hearts were inspired by Julie Ebersole (her blog is called Paper Truffles). I spent a fun 30 minutes going back through her blog (based on the date of my earliest rendition of the chocolate hearts), looking for her post showing this handmade embellishment. Her blog post from January 2011 is titled More Than Chocolate . Here is the dual inspiration for the challenge: fusion 1 15 2015 two hearts Thanks so much for stopping by!

HB 2 U Stump Card

stump 2014 bday

This is a shaker card I created for someone with the nickname “Stump”.

Actually, it is card #2 for my Mom, and, YES, her nickname is “Stump”. She is vertically challenged. I forget exactly when my Dad started calling her “Stump”, I’m 95% sure it started when I was in high school. My sibling and I picked up on it, my offspring call her Grandma Stumpy.

Here is a close up of the shaker window. There is foam tape between the window layer and the background layer to allow for movement of the sequins.

80th Birthday Card

walty purple orange 80

My Dad turns 80 today. Unbelievable! He is still very active, “80” does not seem right.

He is an avid fan, Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens. Now do the orange and purple make more sense?  😉 Three hearts because this is the card from the offspring.

The offspring and I often communicate in doge, so the inside of the card is in doge…we are not quite sure that my Dad will “get it”, but he knows we are a bit dog obsessed.

Floral Birthday Card – Reverse Confetti March 2014 Color Challenge

rc mar 2014 color birthday 2

Today, I am playing along with the Reverse Confetti March 2014 Color Challenge. LOVE these colors!

RC Mar14ColorChallengeI used the Reverse Confetti arrow die to make flower stems…what do you think? Good “outside the box” thinking? I own 4 Reverse Confetti products (2 stamp sets, 1 die set (tags), 1 single die (arrow))…difficult to keep using the same supplies in the challenges and NOT have the same exact card every time!
