Cool Bear Tag – 12 Tags of Christmas 2019 Challenge

Ellen Hutson is having her 12 Tags of Christmas 2019 Challenge again this year. I always love to see what her designers create. This year, the daily themes are inspired by Christmas Carols.

My tag was inspired by Day 7, Cool Yule with Heather Meeson . After I saw the title, “Cool Yule”, Baloo from the animated version of The Jungle Book was stuck in my head.

So, I colored the MFT sELFIE bear similar to Baloo. Who could be cooler? Shoobie doo bop!

Night Sky Forever and Always Card

I wanted a blended background behind this die, and I found a “night sky” in my completed pieces folder.

I have a few very specific cards that I should be working on, but my mojo is not at the optimum level for “very specific cards”. So,  I am working on perfectly lovely cards that will fill holes in my card basket.

Treat Yourself Note Card

How’s everyone doing?

I’ve been a little under the weather, with a smattering of “other things to do” going on.

Today’s note card was really quick and easy. Wouldn’t it be cute to hold a gift card from the local ice cream shop as an end of year gift for a student or favorite teacher?

I made the ice cream chocolate – because that is my favorite.  😉

Goodbye, Sweet Baby

This card was a request – a family is mourning the loss of their 21 year old fur baby named Baby.

The sentiment was computer generated on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card stock, and die cut.

Watercolored Distress Oxide Encouragement Note Card

Another try at watercoloring with Distress Oxide inks. This time I stamped the image using 2 colors of ink (so they blend in the middle). And I was more careful with the water I applied to the flowers, most of the detail lines were preserved. There is a light splattering of sparkle (Wink of Stella) that is not visible in the photo.

Bear Pair Valentine’s Day Card

This is the bear stamp I used on my parents Christmas cards – those I left white as polar bears. Sometime over the holidays, I saw someone else had colored the bears brown for a card – adorable.

So, I embossed the bears onto watercolor paper and gently watercolored them. The snow is even sparkly white watercolor (you can almost see it in the photo).

And, YES, this is the card I am sending to my parents for Valentine’s Day.

Razzle Berry and Pool Party Spectacular Card

I was wishing for summer weather and fun sunglasses when I made this!

I cut 3 pairs of glasses with the My Favorite Things die (On A Whim, Razzle Berry, Basic Black) and glued them together (leaving one layer off the lenses). I dotted a bit of Wink of Stella into the tiny cutouts on the cat eye corners for some shimmer.
