2021 New Year Card – Almost!

My Christmas cards morphed into New Years cards, and, ALAS, I am still not done. I was going to make two versions – this one, and a sarcastic one.

THEN, January 6th happened, and my sarcastic idea *might* look political (which it was not meant to be political at all, but I didn’t want anyone to misinterpret)?

No no no, can’t have that.

I do know what I will do for the other version, but have completed not a bit of it yet.

I have been in various levels of funk as well. Based on various things (some personal, some national news level), of which I have no control. (Why be in a funk if it is nothing that I have control over?? Try hard, it still happens!)

Somehow, Mother Nature has smiled upon us here in the Mid-Atlantic this week, and we have SUNSHINE.

Hoping you have sunshine on your corner of the internet as well.

Supplies: Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Desert Storm, PopTone Black Licorice, Stampin’ Up! Real Red, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaFine Clair Nocturne, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens Carmine Red (022), Light Green (041), die – Lawn Fawn, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Running Horse Birthday Card

I made something similar to this last month. Just using the extra horse that I watercolored.

It is going to Cousin Pati – I inadvertently ghosted her on a few card requests last fall. (I think I was overwhelmed with in-law care & paperwork at the time.)

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise (retired), Strathmore Bristol, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, ZIG Real Brush Clean Color Pens, die – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), embossing folder – Stampin’ Up!, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder.

Regal Rose Gerbera Daisy Birthday Card

I used my ZIG real brush pens to wash a coral-y mix of pink and orange over this daisy (stamped on Bristol cardstock). After die cutting, I mounted on some neutral Amy Tangerine paper. Sadly, when I went to pull cardstock for matting and the sentiment, I found I was out of the old Stampin’ Up! Cameo Coral (a soft pastel coral). I did find a sheet of Regal Rose in my stash, it is close enough for this.

Dropped into the mail to a family member, HOPEFULLY arriving on time for Thursday birthday!

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Papertrey Ink, paper – American Crafts Amy Tangerine On A Whim, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Regal Rose (retired), Strathmore Bristol, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens Brown (060), Light Green (041), Orange (070), Pink (025), dies – Essentials by Ellen (daisy), My Favorite Things (pierced rectangle), embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Galloping Birthday Card

Hello!

This was another card for my father-in-law.

I stamped the horse on Bristol cardstock, and used my ZIG real brush pens with an aqua brush to watercolor.

What’s going on in your world?

I’ve been keeping busy – sewing masks, a few birthday cards, walking. Worrying about a few family members with medical issues.

Did you get a chance to watch Hamilton? OH. MY. WORD. Just FABULOUS. I hope to get the opportunity to see it live at some point.

Have a great day!

Supplies:  Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise (retired), Strathmore Bristol, inks – VersaFine Vintage Sepia, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens Brown (060), Cobalt Blue (031), Light Green (041), dies – Spellbinders, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

More Wildflower Cards

Yes, once I started with this wildflower stamp, I COULD NOT STOP.

The card on the left was a request from Offspring3 after she saw the first wildflower card.

The cards on the left and in the middle are both watercolored using ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and an aqua brush.

The card on the right was stamped first in Distress Inks, then watercolored with an aqua brush, finally overstamped with the image again in black ink (and embossed). It is supposed to be a loose watercolor, but I don’t know if I went “loose” enough – it might just appear to be mistakes! I did splatter some matching ink over it when dry.

All three are Strathmore Bristol paper – so the color would flow effortlessly with the aqua brush.

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Technique Tuesday, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Pixie Pink (retired), Poppy Parade, Strathmore Bristol, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Abandoned Coral, Candied Apple, Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry, VersaFine Onyx Black, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens Black (010), Brown (060), Carmine Red (022), Light Green (041), Light Violet (081), Orange (070), Pink (025), Yellow (050), embossing powder Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Yet ANOTHER Square Card!

Hello, hello!

Guess What? Chicken Butt Note Card

One of the offspring still says this to me!

I had trouble photographing this – the first photo I had the card taped shut, so you can see the chicken through the window. Overall gloomy day on Monday, the lighting was just never optimal.

Supplies:  Stamps – Newton’s Nook, paper – Heidi Swapp, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens Brown (060), Carmine Red (022), Orange (070), Yellow (050), dies – Spellbinders, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.
