Square Turquoise Daisy Birthday Card

This one was for personal use.

How were your holidays?

Ours were OK. We celebrated Christmas together as a family the weekend after Christmas, due to Offspring1 travel.

Biggest tragedy was dropping a large Pyrex mixing bowl and the glass shards *POSSIBLY* spraying into a large batch of macaroni & shrimp salad that I was making for one of my cousins on Christmas Eve. We cleaned up all the glass. Husband ran to the grocery store to purchase more shrimp. Offspring3 scooted to a local antique store and bought me a replacement Pyrex mixing bowl (she is sweet!). I made a new batch of macaroni & shrimp salad for my cousin. Husband (mostly) and Offspring3 ate all of the *possibly contaminated* macaroni & shrimp salad, with no visible complications so far.

Happy New Year! May 2020 be kind to us all!

Cool Bear Tag – 12 Tags of Christmas 2019 Challenge

Ellen Hutson is having her 12 Tags of Christmas 2019 Challenge again this year. I always love to see what her designers create. This year, the daily themes are inspired by Christmas Carols.

My tag was inspired by Day 7, Cool Yule with Heather Meeson . After I saw the title, “Cool Yule”, Baloo from the animated version of The Jungle Book was stuck in my head.

So, I colored the MFT sELFIE bear similar to Baloo. Who could be cooler? Shoobie doo bop!

Supplies:  Stamps – My Favorite Things, Scrapbook.com, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, inks – Copic 100, B0000, N1, N4, R29, YG23, Gina K. Designs Amalgam, VersaFine Onyx Black, ZIG Wink of Stella clear, die – Taylored Expressions, hole punch – Fiskars, organdy ribbon – ClearBags.

World Card Making Day 2019!

Hello!

I didn’t know if I would have time to participate in World Card Making Day – but I did!  (it’s noon & I am still in my pajamas…priorities, right?)

I admit I watercolored the carnations last night (so it would dry). The background, sentiment, assembly were all done today.

This card is leaving with a batch of brownies in the morning.

Have a great day! Let’s all go get inspired!

Supplies:  Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Canson watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Taylored Expressions Plum Punch, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens Cobalt Blue (031), Light Violet (081), die – Simon Says Stamp, sequins – Pretty Pink Posh, embossing powders – Ranger Super Fine Detail white, Stampendous Detail clear.

Night Sky Forever and Always Card

I wanted a blended background behind this die, and I found a “night sky” in my completed pieces folder.

Supplies:  Paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Strathmore Bristol, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean, ZIG Wink of Stella clear, die – Taylored Expressions.

Dark Pink Sweet Little One Note Card

I have a few very specific cards that I should be working on, but my mojo is not at the optimum level for “very specific cards”. So,  I am working on perfectly lovely cards that will fill holes in my card basket.

Supplies:  Stamps – Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Melon Mambo, inks – Copic E21, RV04, Y17, VersaFine Onyx Black, ZIG Wink of Stella clear, dies – Essentials by Ellen ( scallops), Spellbinders (circles, rectangle), embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Watercolored Pink Gerbera Daisy Birthday Card

This one is for personal use.

The recipient loves bright pink (me, too!), so I watercolored a bright orange and pink Gerbera daisy and die cut it. I inlaid a gold daisy into the blue card stock, then popped the watercolored daisy up on some clear Kool Tak foam (so you won’t see white edges when you peep in to see the gold layer underneath).

A sentiment and a few sequins, I am done.

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Bashful Blue (retired), Pixie Pink (retired), Stardream Metallics Gold, inks – VersaMark, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush pens Briwb (060), Green (040), Light Green (041), Orange (070), Pink (025), die – Essentials by Ellen, sequins – Pretty Pink Posh, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold.

Watercolored Purple Poppies Sympathy Card

I chose to watercolor on Bristol paper for this card, being careful to not use too much water.

Supplies:  Stamps – Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grape, Strathmore Bristol, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Marker Black (010), watercolors – Sakura Koi, embossing powders – Ranger Silver Pearl, Stampendous Detail clear.

Seagull Photo Paint Chip Father’s Day Card

This one is for my Dad.

I die cut watercolor paper with the photo frame die, then stamped the seagull, embossed with clear powder, and watercolored the square.

Alas, I cut the paint chip, and set it aside without checking if it was straight. I always ASSume that paint chips come to me with cuts in perfect perpendicular form (If the sides are not straight or the paint lines are not level on the chip, I lose. I use a precut side to start my downsizing of the paint chip.). So, it was glued down when I noticed it was wonky. BOO. But, really, my Dad is not grading me on this (other things – YES, he is. Still.).

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Hero Arts, paper – Canson watercolor, Home Depot paint chip, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, Smoky Slate, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, Smoky Gray, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens Light Gray (091), Orange (070), dies – Simon Says Stamp (sentiment strip), Taylored Expressions (photo frame), watercolors – Sakura Koi, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.
