Paper and Ink Imaginings

just playing with paper and ink

Metallic Stripes Anniversary Card

This was for my parents’ 66th wedding anniversary last month.

I was out of time and out of ideas! I cut strips of gold, silver and black – POOF! A finished card.

Supplies: Stamps – Newton’s Nook, paper – Curious Metallic Gold Leaf, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Simon Says Stamp Black, Stardream Metallics Silver, inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, die – Newton’s Nook, embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Stampendous Gold Detail.

Personalized Diamond Background Cards

The diamond background in this color blue (Distress Ink Salty Ocean) reminds me so much of the Bavarian flag! I had to add my German pretzels to it!

This one is for Offspring1. The little tiny bike came in a Hero Arts stamp set, and I was so happy that it fit within the diamonds!

I also like the image on the inked diamonds.

Supplies – Stamps – Avery Elle, Essentials by Ellen, Gina K. Designs, Papertrey Ink, Stampin’ Up!, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pop-Tone Black Licorice, Stardream Metallic Gold, inks – Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Candied Apple, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, VersaFine Onyx Black, Vintage Sepia, VersaMark, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangles), Simon Says Stamp (sentiment label), embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Ranger Super Fine Detail white.

Amethyst Hummingbird Birthday Card

Part of the “birthday cards requested by mother-in-law” collection. Another scrap of sparkly paper for the hummingbird.

I stamped and die cut the flowers on green and yellow paper, then fussy cut the yellow blooms to be glued on top of the green ones.

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Newton’s Nook, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Stardream Metallics Amethyst, ink – VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Newton’s Nook (flowers, hummingbird), Simon Says Stamp (banner), Spellbinders (circle), embossing folder – We R Memory Keepers, embossing powder – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear.

Hummingbird Thinking of You Card

I wanted to use the hummingbird stamp, but I didn’t want to take the time to color the image. I searched through all of my metallic paper samples, and found this blue one.

My mother-in-law requested a few birthday cards, and I am including this in the stash I send to her.

Supplies:  Stamps – Newton’s Nook, paper – My Favorite Things Bundles of Blossoms Brights, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Pop Tone Black Licorice, Stardream Metallics Vista (I think?), inks – VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark, dies – My Favorite Things (pierced rectangle), Newton’s Nook (hummingbird), embossing powders – Filigree Fine Art Powder clear, Ranger Super Fine Detail Powder white.

Green and Gold Sympathy Card

Hey, how was your weekend? Can you believe it is MONDAY again??

My weekend was a mixed bag – I was invited to go see the Broadway Tour of CATS (#5 if you are counting!) by a cousin who had never seen it, which was great. But, I’m not feeling great (trying to figure out if it is a chiropractor visit or primary care visit!), and my desktop computer hard drive is ailing (I will be scrambling to move things the next few days).

Another card to add to the collection for my mother-in-law.

Supplies:  Stamps – Hero Arts, My Favorite Things, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stardream Metallics Gold, inks – Gina K. Designs Jelly Bean Green, VersaMark, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold.

Daisies on Navy Birthday Card

TGIF!!! So glad Friday got here – it has been a long week. Not really sure WHY it has been a long week?? I did lose one day (spent it on the couch in the basement, so I could tend to the laundry machines without much movement!) to side effects from a Shingles vaccine. And I spent yesterday (which is my normal cleaning day) amazed at how much dust & grime had accumulated over the holidays (I didn’t have a regular cleaning day – I did a few freshen up things, vacuumed a few times). OH.MY.GOODNESS.

I used this bunch of daisies earlier this week, as traditional white daisies. But all along, I saw them on dark cardstock. With colored pencils.

Again, I am not sure if the sentiment strip. Maybe change it to pink with silver embossing?

Have a good weekend!

Supplies:  Stamps – Newton’s Nook, Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, PopTone RazzleBerry, Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy, Stardream Metallics Silver, ink – VersaMark, colored pencils – Prismacolor, dies – Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangle), Taylored Expressions (banner), embossing powder – Stampin’ Up! Sterling Silver.

Navy and Floral Wedding Card

Someone in my husband’s family is getting married next week.

I based my color and design choices on the invitation we received. (I looked it up online – the design is available from VistaPrint.)

I used the navy, the floral theme (I don’t have roses), and the oval shape.

Stamping on dark cardstock is a lot of work! Each flower or leaf was stamped first in white, then in at least one layer of color. I would not have been able to do this without my MISTI for repeat stamping.

Supplies:  Stamps – Hero Arts, Inky Antics, Paper Salon, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy, Stardream Metallics Copper, inks – Copic RV11, Hero Arts Unicorn, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Inks Fired Brick, Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry, Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Oxide Ink – Picked Raspberry, VersaFine Onyx Black, dies – Simon Says Stamp (rectangle), Spellbinders (ovals), embossing powder – Stampendous Detail clear.

Watercolored Pink Gerbera Daisy Birthday Card

This one is for personal use.

The recipient loves bright pink (me, too!), so I watercolored a bright orange and pink Gerbera daisy and die cut it. I inlaid a gold daisy into the blue card stock, then popped the watercolored daisy up on some clear Kool Tak foam (so you won’t see white edges when you peep in to see the gold layer underneath).

A sentiment and a few sequins, I am done.

Supplies:  Stamps – Essentials by Ellen, Papertrey Ink, paper – Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Stampin’ Up! Bashful Blue (retired), Pixie Pink (retired), Stardream Metallics Gold, inks – VersaMark, ZIG Clean Color Real Brush pens Briwb (060), Green (040), Light Green (041), Orange (070), Pink (025), die – Essentials by Ellen, sequins – Pretty Pink Posh, embossing powder – Stampendous Detail Gold.
